Circle of Life

I was supposed to be fishing with my hubby, but I snuck off for a small hike. What I found was a mating pair of osprey. So I did what any nature photographer/enthusiast does...I hiked closer to the nest. Obviously there was no way I could just shimmy up a tree and join the parents-to-be in their nest, so the next best thing was to hunker down on a fallen tamarack tree and see what snapshots I could get. Apparently, the osprey still saw me as a threat because they circled overhead and dive-bombed me for about 20 minutes. Who knew osprey were camera shy.
Once I begin my trek back to the fishing grounds, the osprey immediately returned to their nest. I hope they had better luck fishing that I did that night (the hubby caught an awesome 10" bluegill before the storms rolled in).
