Cheers to Summer

Apparently I did not do a very good job keeping-up and filing my photographs this past year because I found these two gems hidden deep into my laptop's photo bank. What a wonderful surprise to see these summer snapshots in the dead of winter, however. It makes the soul smile and gives hope that Jack Frosts' visit will come to an end eventually.

It always amazes me how fast I am to take a picture of a white-tailed deer. For anyone to lives in the northwoods of WI knows these deer are abundant and seen on a regular basis. Yet, I never tire of photographing them (especially a buck in velvet. I missed a photo this last summer of a buck's velvet coming off his antlers. GRRRR!).

Believe it or not the photo of the Sandhill Crane was taken adjacent to the buck. Unlike the deer, Sandhill Cranes are not that common this far north. You can spot them, for sure, just not as often.

Cheers to summer!
