I took this photo in June of 2009 when the hubby and I traveled to Glacier National Park. I am a total nerd in that I HAVE to scroll through my nature reference books to find flora and fauna I am not familiar with. So needless to say when I struggled to identify this alpine flower it drove me nuts. Until today!
This Medusa-looking flower is Water Avens and is a member of the rose family. I like this flower even more now that I can put a name to the petal.
I miss GNP.
